What Makes HG Tuition Different?
There is certainly no shortage of tutoring companies in Trafford. So what makes HG Tuition any different? Unlike many other tutoring operations, HG Tuition was founded by a teacher, from Trafford, educated in Trafford and working at a primary school in Trafford.
We Only Work With Qualified Teachers
As the business grew, we made sure that anyone tutoring for HG Tuition was themselves a qualified teacher and familiar with the nuances of the entrance exams used by the local grammar schools. Our tutors have always been and will always be a qualified teacher who is currently practising in a local primary school. This keeps them well-equipped to deal with the ever-changing education system.
We Only Group Children When It Makes Sense
In addition to our local knowledge and high-quality tutors, we have always aimed to offer personalised tutoring sessions that address your child’s targets and support their progress in a fun and engaging way. To make sure we’re able to do this, we limit class sizes and only ever group children of a similar age and ability, working on the same content. This ensures that children can be carefully monitored and supported in their learning.
We Build Strong Relationships With Parents
Your child cannot be a success just from an hour or two of tutoring with us. We depend on strong partnerships with every parent who sends their children to us. Should you work with us, we’ll regularly review your child’s targets with you, encourage you to discuss their progress with our tutoring team and offer you a more formal report on their progress throughout the academic year.
We Avoid Stressing Your Child
Although we have high expectations for all of the children that we work with, we aim to keep tutoring sessions light-hearted and fun. Many of the children we work with are very bright but might lack confidence in their work. Our aim is for your child to leave their session with us feeling motivated and satisfied with their work and ultimately, guide them towards a great performance in their entrance exam.
How We Work
We like to meet all of our new parents and students in person before we start working with them. This gives us an idea of what you’d like to achieve from tutoring your child and allows us to assess the most suitable way we can cater to them.
Once we’ve agreed on our relationship, we’ll register you in our management system and add your child to any upcoming lessons. Our sessions only run during term time but we’ll bill you over a full 12 months to spread your costs and make payments more manageable. You can pay via cash or card at the Centre, via direct debit or card through your online account, or using childcare vouchers.
As part of our Ofsted registration, we do have to keep track of your child. This includes some of their personal information as well as signing them in and out of the Centre, but full disclosure of what’s involved will be given to you when you sign up.
While we appreciate life can occasionally get in the way, we expect children to arrive, on-time and ready to learn. We charge for any that your child misses so ask our parents to take full advantage of what we offer. Try to make time to work through any additional material with your child and ensure that they have a quiet place where they can work when away from school or HG Tuition.
We understand that children often have many commitments, but suggest that if you’re interested in additional tutoring then prioritise their education over anything else they might be participating in.
Finally, while we aim to make your child as much of a success as they can be, we do not guarantee their performance, particularly when it comes to entrance exams. We are more than happy to provide feedback at any point throughout the year and can definitely give any child we work with a fighting chance of getting a place at the school of their choice.
