Michelle is the owner of HG Tuition and gained her qualified teaching status after completing her PGCE at Edge Hill University in 2012. Michelle holds an undergraduate degree in English with Education Studies from Liverpool John Moores University and spent several years teaching abroad. She taught a Year 6 class at St. Vincent’s in Altrincham during her NQT year and has spent the past few years teaching Year 3 at St. Ann’s in Stretford. In 2017, she went part-time at St. Ann’s to allow her to spend more time focusing on HG Tuition.
Joe studied to become a teacher in Leeds and graduated in 2015. He’s spent the last few years working alongside Michelle at St. Ann’s in Stretford. He specialises in Key Stage 2 but has experience of Key Stage 1 as well. He’s very popular with the children and parents alike and always makes a big effort to keep his lessons light-hearted and fun.
Hannah gained her Qualified Teaching Status upon graduating with a first in Primary Education from Durham, in summer 2015. During her time at university, Hannah’s experience ranged from Reception to Year 6 and since graduating, Hannah has been teaching at a school in North Manchester. She has taught professionally in Year 6, Year 4 and most-recently in Year 2. She loves traveling to new places around the World during the holidays and is big Manchester United fan…who likes to steal her brother’s season ticket when she can!
Nick was awarded Qualified Teacher Status in 2016 and is currently in his third Year teaching a Year 6 class at a local school. He has a strong passion for teaching early Maths as well as developing children’s number-fluency skills. He started working with HG Tuition in 2018 and is particularly looking forward to helping children in this area. He is an avid Manchester United fan and when not working, he will be watching them or some form of sport!
Carlie has been a teacher for 10 years, the last 8 of which have been in a school in Trafford where she was also a member of the Senior Leadership team and KS2 phase leader. She has taught Year 6 for many years and is passionate about active, creative learning across all subjects. She has led several subjects including English and Science, contributed to curriculum development across both Key Stages and designed a new PSHE curriculum for the whole school. She is a full-time mum to twins who keep me very busy! She is also a keen baker, with a local cake business that she runs with her sister.
Kelly gained her PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009 and has worked with a variety of ages and abilities in a wide range of environments. She is passionate about delivering high quality, practical and personalised education that builds confidence, believing that creativity should be at the heart of education. She is a full-time mum to four children and loves supporting them through their own learning journey.
Heather joined HG Tuition midway through the 2019 academic year. After completing her A-Levels, she graduated with a 1st class degree in Education Studies from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2014. She lives in Flixton and teaches a Year 3 class at St. Monica’s.
